Do I need to take this course?

If you want a Senior Driver's License (which means you have no passenger limit or time restrictions) at 17½ years old, you must take a 30-hour state-approved driver education course.

When do I take this course?

After you've held your Junior Driver's License for at least a year.

How will I get my certificate?

What happens after I complete the course?

Schedule an appointment at your local PennDOT. When you go, be sure to bring:

  • Valid learner's permit
  • Vehicle's registration & proof of insurance
  • Parent/Guardian Certification form (DL-180C)
  • Valid driver's license of accompanying driver
  • Valid inspection sticker
